The "Forum" activity provides a bulletin board for discussions. Using a forum enables the following activities.
Each course includes a default forum called "Announcements" for posting notices. You can also use Announcements for course-related notifications.

You can also add an additional forum separate from Announcements. In that case, select "Forum" from "Add an activity or resource."
